Terms of Use

Effective date: at first App Store release.

These Terms of Use ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and the publisher of Mira: Habit Garden ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

1. Who can use Mira: Habit Garden

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country, whichever is higher) to use the app. If you are between 13 and 18, you confirm that a parent or guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.

Mira: Habit Garden is a wellness and habit formation tool. It is not a medical device, therapy service, or substitute for professional mental health care. If you are in crisis, please contact local emergency services or one of the crisis lines listed inside the app under Mira, then "If you are in crisis".

2. Your account

The app runs locally on your device. We do not require a server side account. Some sign in methods (Apple, Google, email) create a local identity that is used to scope your saved progress.

You are responsible for the device and Apple or Google account you sign in from. If you give your device to someone else they may see your data.

3. Subscriptions and free trial

Mira: Habit Garden offers a free tier and a paid subscription ("Pro"). Pro unlocks unlimited Mira chat, weekly Future Self Letters, monthly Becoming Reports, unlimited promises, and premium share cards.

Free trial: New users may begin Pro with a 7 day free trial. No charge is taken during the trial.
After the trial: Your subscription renews at the price displayed on the paywall (currently $44.99 per year or $8.99 per month). Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase.
Auto renewal: Your subscription renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
How to cancel: Manage or cancel in your Apple ID Settings, then Subscriptions. Deleting the app does not cancel the subscription.
Refunds: Refunds are handled by Apple. See support.apple.com/HT204084.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

Use the app for any unlawful purpose.
Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code or underlying API keys.
Send Mira (the AI companion) content that is abusive, sexually explicit, that targets a minor, or that solicits illegal acts.
Submit content that contains personally identifying information about other people without their consent.

We may suspend access if we believe you have violated these terms.

5. AI content

Mira's responses are generated by a third party language model (currently OpenAI's GPT models). We have tuned the persona for warmth and safety, but the model is not a clinician and can occasionally produce text that is incorrect, off tone, or unhelpful.

Do not act on Mira's words as medical, psychological, financial, or legal advice.

If you tell Mira about thoughts of self harm or suicide, the app will surface a crisis resources screen with local emergency numbers. Please call a real person.

6. Intellectual property

The app, including the Mira character, the visual garden system, and the Mira: Habit Garden brand, is owned by us. You retain ownership of the content you write (your habits, journal entries, check in answers).

You grant us a limited license to process your content to provide the service. For example, to send a context snapshot to the AI model so Mira can respond.

7. Privacy

Use of the app is also governed by our Privacy Policy.

8. Termination

You may stop using the app at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms. Local copies of your data remain on your device unless you tap "Clear all local data" in Profile.

9. Disclaimers

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR FREE, OR THAT IT WILL MEET YOUR REQUIREMENTS. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF THE APP IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU HAVE PAID FOR PRO IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

10. Changes

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be flagged inside the app. Continued use after the effective date of a change means you accept the updated Terms.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the publisher's country of residence without regard to its conflict of laws principles.
